Local casting call for the voice to be help in Tucson

The NBC Network’s top-rated new television show, “The Voice” is coming to Tucson to look for entertainers to be featured during the second season that will begin in January 2012.

“The Voice” is an innovative vocal competition series modeled after Holland’s top-rated vocal talent discovery show, “The Voice of Holland.” The series is hosted by Carson Daly and features the musician coaches working through the various phases of the competition with only the most talented vocalists.

The official Tucson casting call for “The Voice” will take place on Tuesday, August 23 from 3-8pm at the AVA Amphitheater located at the Casino del Sol Hotel Resort, 5655 West Valencia Road, Tucson, AZ.

Solo singers and duet acts are encouraged to audition. The first 200 entrants in line will be guaranteed an audition for “The Voice” with additional entrants allowed to tryout if time permits. Entrants must be at least 16 years of age by September 15, 2011 and a legal resident of the United States. All entrants will be required to sing “a cappella” (without musical soundtrack or instrument accompaniment-NO EXCEPTIONS).

Four semi-finalists will be selected by judges at the August 23 casting call at the AVA Amphitheater at Casino del Sol Hotel Resort. Video of the four semi-finalists auditions will be loaded onto www.kvoa.com and viewers will be encouraged to vote for their favorite. The entrant receiving the most votes will be deemed “the winner” and will receive an expense paid trip to Los Angeles and “VIP Audition” in front of “The Voice” Casting Director on August 31.

Entrants are encouraged to visit www.kvoa.com to download the official release form, then fill it out and bring it to the casting call on August 23. Rules, guidelines, FAQs and other casting call information are also located on the site.

“The Voice” is a presentation of Mark Burnett’s One Three Inc., Talpa Content USA, Inc. and Warner Horizon Television. The series is created by John de Mol, who executive-produces along with Burnett, Audrey Morrissey and Stijn Bakkers.

You know I grew up in Tucson, I moved to Phoenix, thinking i could have a better chance to get on to a show like this, I have noway to get to Tucson to try out, I have been in band since I was 15 yrs old, why wont this come to Phoenix, I have the range of “Ann Wilson” from heart, and I have no access of a webcam so i can send it, And I saw one of my class mates that was in the Choir with me in 1986″ has made the finals,it’s very very frustrating, I know!!!! I would make it, can you except an audio clip of me that way i can show you my stuff, just wasted talent thats going nowhere!!!! believer me you would pick me!!!!!
